Led by Kay Walker, a certified cold plunge facilitator, each session is carefully designed to build resilience, reduce stress, and promote a state of calm and clarity.

What to Expect From a Cold Therapy Group Session

Each session includes:

  1. Introduction and Education
    We will start with an overview of cold plunge therapy, where Kay explains the benefits—such as improved circulation, reduced inflammation, stress resilience, and mental clarity. She will also cover the science behind cold exposure and its effects on mood, energy, and health.
  2. Breathing Techniques
    Participants are taught a breathing techniques that downregulates (relaxes) the nervouse system before they get in the water These techniques help control the body’s response to the cold, calm the mind, and improve oxygen flow.
  3. Guided Preparation
    The group will learn practices for entering the cold water safely and gradually. Kay guides participants to use mental techniques and a entry process that helps them acclimate to the cold, ensuring safety and comfort.
  4. Group Plunge
    In a safe, controlled environment, participants enter the cold water (such as an ice bath, cold pool, or natural cold water body). The session includes a set time goal (2-4 minutes per person depending on experience).
  5. Aftercare
    Following the cold plunge, participants discuss their experience. Each participant will learn how to cold plunge at how and integrate it into their routine to enjoy long-term benefits.

By the end of each session, participants gain a foundational understanding of cold plunge therapy and learn how to incorporate it into their health routines for long-term benefits. The group setting provides a supportive environment, especially for those new to cold immersion therapy.

Additional Travel Costs: Travel fees apply for sessions held outside of Niagara, Hamilton, and Toronto.

Equipment Fee: In some cases, we can arrange for a host facility that has cold plunge equipment and supplies. Equipment and supplies fee is waived in this case. and a facility fee is added. This can be discussed in our initial consult.

    Absolutely. Each participant is guided by Kay to ensure they feel safe and can go at their own pace. First-timers are welcome!
  • How often should I do cold plunging?
    Cold therapy is most beneficial when done a minimum of twice per week for 3 minutes in water that is minimum 8 degrees celsius.
